September 2026 11+ Small Group Courses

Help your child build the skills and confidence they need for the 11+

Structured 12-week online courses designed to help Year 4 and 5 students master key 11+ skills, develop strong exam strategies and become more confident working independently.

HOW IT WORKS

More than another weekly tuition class

The 11+ covers a huge amount of content, and children don’t just need to understand it. They need the confidence and independence to apply what they’ve learned when they’re working on their own.

That’s exactly what these 12-week small group courses are designed to build.

Each course focuses on a specific area of the 11+, giving children the time to properly learn, practise and apply key skills and strategies rather than simply working through question after question.

With a maximum of just 5 students per class, there’s plenty of opportunity for individual support, questions and feedback while still getting all the benefits of learning alongside other children.

Every 12-week course includes:

  • 12 × 50-minute live Zoom lessons
  • Small groups of no more than 5 students
  • A structured 12-week learning programme
  • Weekly lesson materials to keep
  • Around 30 minutes of homework each week
  • Homework marking and personalised feedback
  • Lesson recordings if your child needs to catch up
  • Written progress feedback for each child every three lessons
  • Ongoing support throughout the term

The aim is simple: for your child to finish the course not only knowing more, but feeling much more confident about how to approach the 11+ independently.

About the Courses

All courses are custom-built and taught by Nicole, an 11+ expert with years of experience and a proven track record.

Verbal Reasoning

Build the vocabulary, strategies and exam skills needed to tackle verbal reasoning with confidence. We group similar question types together so students can learn transferable strategies, rather than trying to remember a completely different method for every type of question. Alongside vocabulary building and plenty of practice, we'll work on annotations, timing, accuracy and exam strategy so students know how to approach the paper independently.

Creative/Continuous Writing

Suitable whether your child's 11+ refers to the writing element as Creative Writing or Continuous Writing. We begin with the core skills that can strengthen any piece of writing, before exploring story writing, planning, proofreading and editing. Students then apply these skills across the different genres, purposes and styles of writing they may encounter in an 11+ exam, while learning how to produce their best work within the time available.

Spelling, Punctuation & Grammar

Focus on the key SPaG knowledge and skills students need for the 11+, while learning how to apply them across different exam question types. We'll develop practical strategies for spelling that students can continue using at home, as well as working on accuracy, common question formats and exam technique. These skills also have valuable crossover into Reading Comprehension and Creative Writing, where strong SPaG can make a real difference.

Reading Comprehension

A course built specifically around the skills and strategies needed for 11+ Reading Comprehension. Students learn how to annotate and understand texts efficiently, tackle different question types, work out unfamiliar vocabulary and avoid common traps. Across the course, they encounter a wide variety of genres and writing styles, using texts from past 11+ exams or written in the style of real papers. We also focus on structuring strong written answers and approaching multiple-choice questions strategically, with written answer, multiple choice and mixed course formats available to suit different 11+ exams.

Frequently Asked Questions

Each 12-week course costs £299, covering three months of structured, expert-led support and guidance. This works out at just under £25 per student, per week.

Payment plans are also available. You can pay 50% to reserve your child’s space, followed by the remaining 50% one month after the initial payment

Yes! Classes are kept small so that all students can ask and answer questions throughout each lesson. Cameras and microphones are kept on and classes are interactive, rather than lecture-style.

Absolutely. We have helped children gain entry into both selective and super-selective schools. Courseware is fully custom-built to provide the level of knowledge students need when preparing for top schools.

No problem. You will still receive the lesson materials, worksheet, homework task and lesson recording to review. If you have questions after watching the recording, support is available.

Classes include a mixture of Year 4 and Year 5 students, so naturally there is some variation in ability. Year 4 students join small group classes if they are working at expected level or above. Lessons are designed to stretch stronger students while still supporting those who need more confidence and structure.

Confidence-building is central to Path to Pass. Lessons are calm, supportive and structured to help children trust their thinking. Building confidence is considered just as important as developing exam readiness and academic skills.

Most parents do not need to sit in on classes, as children are fully supported by the tutor throughout. For some Year 4 students, we may recommend spending around 10 minutes looking through the lesson slides together before class. Parents should also ensure that their child completes their weekly homework.

The courses are suitable for most exam boards, including GL, SET, Bucks STT, Kent Test, CSSE, ISEB Pretest, London Consortium and school-set exams.

Your child’s target schools will affect which courses are relevant and which Reading Comprehension format they should take. Reading Comprehension is available in multiple-choice, written-answer and combined formats, while Creative Writing is suitable for schools with a writing element.

The courses are not designed specifically for the new-format FSCE 2026 exams, although the skills taught remain relevant and transferable.

Yes. Parents usually enrol their child in one or two courses at a time, depending on their exam format and where they need the most support.

If you would like to join more than one course, please complete the booking process separately for each course.
