FAQs
What age should my child start 11+ tutoring?
Most families begin in Year 4 or Year 5. Some confident learners start earlier, while others join in Year 6 for focused revision. We’re happy to chat and help you decide the best timing for your child.
What year group can my child start group classes?
Students in Year 4 & 5 can join group classes.
Do you offer online 11+ tuition or in-person lessons?
All lessons are delivered online via Zoom, with printable worksheets and live teaching. This allows us to work with families across the UK and internationally – with no travel or stress.
Are the classes 1:1 or group-based?
Our main courses are run in small groups of up to 5 students, so each child gets plenty of attention while also benefiting from group discussion and shared examples. Limited 1:1 slots are available for specific support.
What subjects do you cover in your 11+ tutoring?
Our group classes focus on:
-
✏️ Creative Writing
-
📖 Reading Comprehension
-
✍️ SPaG (Spelling, Punctuation, and Grammar)
-
🧠 Verbal Reasoning (VR)
Each session includes live teaching, an in-class worksheet, homework, and feedback.
Do you provide homework?
Yes – every class includes a short, purposeful homework task to consolidate learning. We also mark homework each week and provide written feedback so parents can track progress.
Will we receive feedback or updates as parents?
You will also get a detailed progress report at the midway and end point of each course, so you know exactly what your child is doing well at and what they need more practice in.
Do you prepare children for both grammar and private school exams?
Our tutoring is suitable for all formats of 11+ entrance exams, including GL, ISEB, CSSE, SET, STT and independent entrance exams.
How do I sign up or book a place?
Just send us a message! We’ll arrange a time to chat, answer your questions, and suggest the right group or support option for your child.
Do your classes fill up in advance?
Yes, places often book up months in advance, so we recommend registering your interest as soon as possible.
Is 11+ tutoring worth it?
Yes – especially when the tutor knows how to support your child’s specific needs. Our lessons build skills, confidence, and exam familiarity over time, not just last-minute tricks.
What should I look for in an 11+ tutor?
Look for someone consistent, qualified, and communicative. At Path to Pass, Nicole teaches every class herself, with regular feedback, structured lessons, and parent support.
